Tooth #6

Maren just lost a tooth last week.  She's had another tooth loose, and last night, at the gymnastics meet, her 6th tooth came out.  She was excited!  Yes, the Tooth Fairy came last night.  What a beautiful girl.

Family Weekend

Somehow we decided to go on a little family get a way.  We decided to go to Red Lodge, stay in a hotel, then go skiing the next day.  Sam went earlier to ski, then I came with the kids when they got out of school.   The plan was to play Apples to Apples, Uno, or other games.  We weren't going to have any 'electronics' on.  When we got there, we all went swimming for a while, then we were going to play some games.  Sam, however, really wanted to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics.  So, that's what we did.  It was pretty cool.

The next morning, Sam made us eggs, bacon, and English muffins.  Very yummy.  Then we headed to the mountain.  It was a bit windy, but we all had fun.

Aliza and Maren usually stays on the 'Miami Beach' run, but we decided they could go on the bigger lifts.  They were scared, but did very well.  Aliza, by the end of the day was not snow plowing anymore, and was stopping sideways.

Maren did very well, but was very tired by the last run.  Her legs hurt and she was done.  I was fine with that.  

Sammy told Sam that he really didn't like skiing, in fact, it scares him to death.  But, he goes for his dad.  That is very impressive to me.

I'm glad we were all able to go and enjoy some time together and actually ski together.

Hunter Safety

My boy is 11 years old, turning 12 in August, which means he can hunt in October.  He has his gun from Christmas, he just needed to take the hunter safety course to be legal.

He had to go to class, from 6:15p.m. till 9:00 M-F for a week.  I was worried about him missing a week of gymnastics, but he was determined.  On Friday he took the written test, which he had to get an 85% to pass.  I had never seen him study so hard all week for this test.  He was loving every minute of it.  He got a 99%, he was so happy.

Sam and I had to leave Wed. for our weekend away, so between Clint and Sammy, Jackson got to his classes.  Clint took him to his field course test on Saturday and got these pictures.  He had to show them how to take a gun out of the car and walk a course with the gun in his hands.

I am so proud of Jackson, my Mr Outdoors Man.  Can't wait for him to bring home his first deer.....NOT :)

Weekend With My Hubby

Sam and I had an opportunity to go to Whitefish, Mt (near Glacier Nat. Park).  We usually go in the summer, but haven't been during winter yet.  It was beautiful.

This picture is a dock on Flathead Lake.  Usually it is full of boats.  This was a strange sight.

We got to Whitefish in the afternoon.  Sam dropped me off at the hotel and went straight to the ski hill.  He got up there with about an hour before it closed.  They let him ski for free.  Lucky!  I however, stayed at the hotel and got a massage.  I really needed one.  I got a hot stone massage, which I had never had before, and felt wonderful.  

The picture below is Sam with the ski mountain in the background.  (which you can't see in the picture).  He was so excited to go skiing the next day.

We finally get there.  It was an amazing sight.  I haven't seen trees this covered with snow in ages.  

It was amazing to be able to see Glacier Nat. Park mountains in the distant.

I was just in amazement with these trees!  The funny thing, is on the other side of the trees were green with no snow.

On our way home, we took some time to go into Glacier Park.  We could only go in 10 miles, but saw some beautiful sights.  I loved the glass looking lake.

I am so glad we got to go and be by ourselves for a weekend.  The last time we got away was for our anniversary in September.  We both ended up having strep and going home early.

  

One Decade Old!

Aliza turns 10!

We had to celebrate Aliza's birthday on Tuesday because Sam and I were leaving on Wednesday.  We took her to Applebee's (her choice) along with Maren.  When we got home, after nine, she opened her gifts.  She was very excited about all her gifts.

The Gym

I go to the gym about two times a week in Billings.  Usually I will run some errands after, since I'm already out, so I take some clothes to change into and things to do my hair after my shower there.  Today, I opened my bag to get my clothes and found that I forgot my bra!  My sports bra was too stinky and wet.  (Good thing I had a jacket to wear over my shirt)  So, I thought I would make a list of things I have forgotten here and there in the past.  Usually it is only one thing forgotten that day, but not good for my over all look.

• Head phones - makes working out sort of boring.
• Shoes - I haven't worn white tennis shoes with jeans in a very long time.  I felt so funny. (Amy even noticed)
• Hair brush - Very wild look that day. (Actually that was the day Sam told me he liked my hair)
• Underwear - Ugh!  Didn't go shopping that day, straight home in work out clothes.
• Water bottle - Darn, have to stop and go to the drinking fountain.
• Make-up - Oh well, the town saw me granola that day.
• Deodorant - I did shower and put some on when I got home.
• Key card to get into gym - just takes a little longer, I had to check in.
