Maren, Randon, and Zach's Baptism

Well, it's done. My last child, baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.
She turned 8 in March, but decided to wait until her cousin, Randon, turned 8 in April so they could be baptized at the same time. We set the date for April 22, which was our Spring Break, and hoped our families could make it. Amy's brother Todd was going to come up with his family from Salt Lake which his son, Zach, turned 8 on that very day, so he decided to get baptized with Maren and Randon. They sent a picture to Amy, and away we went.
Anny and Jim's family had that whole week for spring break, so they came up on Tuesday and had some dental appointments while here. Kass, Mick, Mom and their family came up Thursday late with Boston. The day was pretty busy with getting soups going. We brought three soups, Amy brought one, her sister and Dana each brought some soup.
Maren was so ready for this day and was very excited. The dress she got baptized in was borrowed from Amy. Her three girls were baptized in it, along with Aliza who borrowed it as well.
There was so much family there, we had the service in the chapel. My mom gave the talk on baptism. Maren was so cute. She cried through the talk, and after said that was the first time she really felt the spirit. Maren was baptized first, then Randon, then Zach. All the siblings and cousins sang I am a Child of God while Maxi played the guitar and Zack Franckowiak played the piano. They did such a great job. Sammy and Patrick were supposed to sing too, but never went up.... stinkers. Amy's mom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost, and did a great job.
Sister Engle made the cake for us. It was very good. She decorated it very nice. I like the big sheet of cake with the three round cakes on top, which came off. The kids were able to take their toppers home.
Maren got lots of gifts. Somehow, it ended up as tradition for Aunt Kelli to make each of the girls a quilt for their baptism. Maren loves hers and thinks it's the best one yet :)
I wasn't very good about taking pictures afterwards. I'm so glad Mom got this picture with her camera and sent it to me.
I am so happy for Maren's decision to get baptized. She is a smart, beautiful, and happy young lady. I love her so much and am so thankful that she is a part of our family.

What a fun baptism! I can't believe she's old enough for that already.

Maybe if I get baptized again, Kelli will make a quilt for me too! I agree with Maren... it's beautiful!
