Weekend Get A Way

There isn't much time left.  Sammy is about to leave.  So, we took the one free weekend we had and went to the West Yellowstone KOA and had some fun.  We started Friday at an RV Camp place in Bozeman, stayed the night, went to a movie that everyone just HAD to see, then Saturday headed up to West Yellowstone.  It rained most the weekend, the girls swam in the indoor pool and when we had a little sky we took the opportunity to play some miniature golf.  Doesn't it look like they are having so much fun?

Saturday night, we went to the Playmill Theatre's Beauty and the Beast.  We couldn't get our seats all together.  Sam and Sammy sat together on the other side of the theatre while Maren, Aliza, and Jackson  sat in front of me a little.  Yes, I was all alone, and I was OK with that.

I have been so bad with taking pictures, and can't believe I didn't take one picture of Sammy and Sam this trip.  So not happy with that, especially since Sammy was going to be gone for 2 years.

Sunday morning, we packed up and got ready to go to church in West Yellowstone.  It was a large congregation.  We sat way back in the gym.  We saw some of the people from the play the night before.  

Melanie's Wedding

After Sam got out of the hospital, the kids and I left to go down to Utah for Melanie's wedding.  (Curt's step-daughter)  I felt bad leaving Sam, but he assured me he would be fine, and he would rest.  We continued to use our Pass of All Passes, and went to an outdoor play in Orem.  The Fiddler On the Roof.  It was so fun to sit on blankets and watch this fabulous play.  The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the music.

These aren't the best pictures, because I've been using my iphone a lot.  I enjoyed spending this time with my beautiful daughters. 

Saturday morning we went to Seven Peaks Water park.  I'm glad Jackson was able to come this time.

We then headed up the Big Cottonwood Canyon and attended Melanie's wedding.  She was a beautiful bride and it was a beautiful wedding.

The girls wore their same outfits they wore at JJ and Lauren's wedding.  It worked out well for them.

It was a fun and quick trip and loved every minute of it.

Sisters Plus Trip!

What a wonderful long weekend we had in Arizona. We planned it back in September at Michelle's wedding. Joy said that Wicked was coming to Phoenix and that we should have a sisters weekend and go to it. We were all for it.

We flew in Thursday afternoon, and left Tuesday morn. It was amazing.

Rhonda and Anny flew in from Salt Lake City. Christine (sister-in-law) and Aubrey (her daughter) flew in from Boise earlier that week to visit her sister then picked me up at the airport to drive over to Kass's. Jenna was supposed to come, but had to work at the last minute. Stinker.

We started Friday off with a great hike in the cactus filled mountains near Joy and Kass's homes.

We then had a little spa party from one of Joy's friends to get ready for Wicked that night. There were some great products and Christine even signed up to sell it.

We then got ready and went to a yummy dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, after filling our tummies, we headed over to Tempe for Wicked. That was the most amazing play ever. I loved the story, songs, and humor in the show. I think I'm going to take my family to it this summer in Salt Lake.

Saturday we took our time getting ready, then met our Nieces at a great mexican/chinese restaurant only in Phoenix. Anny mentioned she saw it on Drive Thru/Dives/and Diners on the Food Network. Kass said Mick's cousins who live in the area have mentioned it and said it was good, so we tried it. It was very delicious food. Laura, Jessica, Aubrey, and Rachel were going to Wicked that afternoon, so had to eat and run. The rest of us did a little shopping.

Sunday we attended church, went to Tyler's grave site, then visited our other niece (Joy's daughter) Kimberly in the hospital. She had been in the hospital for about a month on bed rest, and the night before she had finally had her baby. It was such a pleasure to see this beautiful baby just down from Heavenly Father's presence. He was in Nic U, so John was kind enough to take us back one by one to see little Deegan Tyler. We then had a great dinner that mom and Kass made earlier in the week. Joy, Jerry and Jordann came over to eat, then we all went over to Joy's daughters house to have some cake for Laura and Aubrey's birthdays.

Monday we did whatever came to us. We ended up going on a little walk around the neighborhood, going to Nordstrom Rack, getting some mani/pedi's, then out to eat one last time at a Japanese Steak house. Oh how the food was great this trip. Now it is DIET time!!!

I loved spending time with my sisters, brothers-in-law, and all my nieces and nephews.

I hope we can get together again soon.

Cousins Camp Utah Day 2

After our walk on Monday, Kass and I stayed at my moms with the kids so we can all be together and not have to meet somewhere.  After Summer Bridges were done, we piled in two vans and headed west to the Oqurrih Mountains to the Kennecott Copper Mine.

Mom is not in any of our pictures, because she was in the car when we were taking them.  She was a little pooped after her walk.

I've always seen this amazing mountain site while in the valley, so it was amazing to see how things actually worked and how the mountain ends up that way.

We met our cousin Trina with her kids and started the fun.

The visitors center was very interesting with a great movie that the kids enjoyed learning from.

The Camp Counselors

It's amazing how big these trucks are.  You can get a small glimpse from the size of their tires.

Jackson requested visiting the Great Salt Lake this Cousins Camp.  So after Kennecott, we drove along the mountains to Saltair, had a picnic lunch in front, then walk out to the "Beach", then out to the water.  It was a very long walk.

Of course the kids are always faster than the adults, so by the time we got to the water they were all in, clothes and all.  It was shallow, so they kept going out farther and farther, then sideways.  They were getting a little too far, so I had to run, quite fast, to get them back to where we were.  They were very hard of hearing as well :)

The boys found a little pool of fish, and tried to catch  them.  They were having a blast, and we would have stayed there a lot longer, but we were not prepared with sunscreen, swim suits, towel, etc.  Why not?  We were going to a beach!

With the beautiful scenery, we tried to get the perfect picture with these girls, they weren't cooperating very well, so this is the best we got.  (Nice open mouth Aliza)

It was a great day to start the week off.
