4 Days of No School? Here we come Utah!

Due to the fall teachers conference, the kids were out of school Thursday and Friday.  Utah had the same schedule, so we decided to head down for some fun time.  Paige, Kyla, and Karissa came too so they could hang with their cousins that live in Salt Lake as well.  We decided to start the morning with going to the Draper Temple.  Jackson, Max, Aliza, Kyla, Karissa, Paige, and their cousins, Sammy, Allie, and Jessie went and had a great time.  It was nice of their mom to meet us in Draper so they could go.

Later that day, we took the kids to a fun pumpkin patch.  There were certain witches we had to find to get a treat.  Some were Witchy Poo and St A Spell.

The stacks of pumpkins were pretty.  My girls and Brooklyn made them look prettier.

Saturday we drove down to Provo and picked up Sammy from his dorm.  It was fun to see him, it was the first time since we dropped him of in August.  He went with us on the hike to the Y.  You can't go to BYU and not hike the 'Y'.
Here we are ready to go with the whole group.... half way up with the laggers.

I love my kids...... We finally made it to the top!

We took turns getting pictures of each others families.

Not too many more of these pictures with all the cousins together.  :(

I love my sisters so much, I don't know what I would do with out them.  Good memories too, while the three of us were in our single days and living in Provo.

Until next time 'Y'

Newport Beach, CA

Sam and I met Jason and Erin May in Newport Beach for a little getaway weekend. I know it was shortly after Christmas break, but we usually need a break after Christmas break.

We couldn't not go to the beach, and it was warm enough to go (72). My brother Aaron met us at our hotel and brought our boogie boards to use. The boys sure had fun out there in the water. Erin and I enjoyed relaxing in the warm.
Our hotel was right on the river front with all these yachts lined along the way. They were big and beautiful. It would have been fun to go for a ride.
We ended up going to Universal Studios. It was different being there without the kids, but I was careful not to go on too many rides this time and not get sick.
We enjoyed lots of yummy restaurants and just a little fun shopping (sorry boys).
Thanks you Mays for meeting us and hope to do it again.

Sammy and Patrick go to Bryce Canyon

June 2-5, 2011
So, there are no pictures of Sammy going to Bryce here, but this is the reason we came. He and Pat wet down to work at Ruby's for 8 weeks. We (the girls and I) never made it to Bryce. School got out Thursday afternoon, and the kids, Patrick and I left then to go to SLC. Sam and Clint came later after work. They stopped halfway and got to Salt Lake with the Beemer Friday. They, with Jackson, Sammy and Patrick, continued on with both the van and Beemer, while the girls and I stayed to hang for a couple of days.
While there, Curt had a booth for Famers at a carnival in Eagle Mountain. Mom, Anny, myself with the kids crammed in and found our way there (with Veronica's help (my phone navigation)). The kids went on some rides. Just a few, since rides were expensive. Aliza and Maren look like they were having so much fun on this ride. Maren and Blake went on the train together. Zack, Max and Jett went on one ride and got sick. I think Zack even threw up....

We hung out with Curt and his family for a min., then we left...

We were all hungry, so we made our way to The Spaghetti Factory. Good thing it wasn't busy yet, the kids took up all the seating, they were so tired.

Sam, Clint, and Jackson picked us up on Sunday and we drove home. It was a fast trip, but those are the fun ones.
Kass usually would be with us, but She and Mick packed up their family and moved to Arizona on Memorial Weekend. It was weird not having them there. Mick will be going to school down there for two years. I think we will be doing a cousins camp there next year..... :)

Mexico

Here we are! Carmen Del Playa, Mexico once again.
May 6-13, 2011
This time we brought some friends.... actually, Nick called Sam and invited us to go with them (it was their anniversary). Sam said yes, lets go. He hung up and called Jim and invited them to go with us. Nick and Hayley seemed o.k with that and the date and tickets were set.

We arrived on Friday with Nick and Hayley, and Anny and Jim came on Saturday.
Jim and I were hanging out while Anny was taking pictures. We had just gotten back from church. I'm glad Sam knows a little Spanish, so I knew what was going on.

Hanging out
Sam and I got a beach front room, so we received special wristbands that gives us special privileges. We were able to be in the VIP section which gives us these nice lounge chairs. Since the others were with us, they gave them the wristbands as well. It was very nice. We got these chairs/couches every morning.

Anny, Jim and I rented these bikes and rode to some shopping down the street.

I love my Hubby. He got so sunburned one day, he went and bought this beenie to keep him from frying and sweating.

He kind of looks like a bad boy doesn't he? (he, he)

Cozumel Date
Our husbands decided to surprise us with a fun date one day. They rented some scooters on Cozumel (an island off of Mexico) and we drove around the island.
We started off with taking the fairy boat over.

We stopped at a place on the beach to eat, very good, then found a place to snorkel along the beach. We saw some pretty cool things. Sam got stuck by something moving by him and was worried it was poisonous..... it wasn't.

After snorkeling, we hopped on our bikes and continued on.

We stopped for a second to make sure we were going the right way.

We're off again...

We stopped here and there at some little bars out in the middle of nowhere to get water and soda.
What a fun day we had with our "boyfriends". We enjoyed it so much.

Scuba Diving
Another day we scheduled an hour or so of scuba diving. Hayley was pregnant, so wasn't able to go. I'm sure she was just fine with that. I think she got a massage while we were gone. We took some quick lessons in a pool, then headed out on the shore of Playa.
Jim, Sam, Becca, Anny

We headed down our 40 feet. Anny had a little ear problem, and was worried about that the whole time.
Jim/ Jim, Anny/ Anny and instuctor (she started to go up, he had to bring her back down)
Sam and Becca/ Nick/ Nick, Jim, Sam

We saw an Eel (it's in that first picture somewhere, I promise), a cool fish, a school of fish, and Nick.

Before heading back up, we got a group picture. I don't think we could have gotten one without bubbles in at least one persons face. When we were up top, Sam saw some green guck in his mouthpiece, which he swears he got pneumonia from when we got home. YUCK. I don't think he wants to scuba dive anymore.
While the boys went looking for some stuff at the stores, Anny and I stopped at a massage place and got an hours worth for only $25.00. It was nice.

Saying Goodbye
Our last night here. Anny wanted to get some fun pictures of us all. She brought her bigger camera, so I had her take ours with her camera. Nick and Hayley used their own, so I don't have any of them. Boy, Sam and I look tan don't we.

Our last night at a Brazilian restaurant. Not as good and in the states, but good enough.

Getting a shot of the balcony before leaving. It was so humid outside, it fogged up my camera while taking this picture. You get the gist of it.

What a wonderful and much needed trip. Thanks Nick and Hayley for the invite.

I did get up at 6:00 to watch the sun rise twice this trip. Sam came with me the second time. It was beautiful.

Jackson's Las Vegas Meet

On our way to Las Vegas, we flew over Salt Lake City and the Kenecott Mine.  Thought it was pretty cool looking.

This was Jackson's first big meet, other than regionals.  He competed with boys from all around the country.  Some were very, very good.  It was pretty fun to see Jackson hanging right there with them.
He ended taking 4th in all around, which at this kind of meet was huge!  We were all very excited and proud of our Jackson.
Tropic was only 4 hours away, so Nick came with Rylee, Dreyson, and Javin, and Megan and Damon came with their kids.  We are so glad they were able to come and watch.

Later, we went to the Stratosphere and the kids and Sam went on the Big Shot.  They were pretty scared to go, but had a fun time once it was done.
We met Nick, Megan and Damon and kids at the Cheesecake Factory the night before.  It was delicious.  Other things we did was M & M World, walking the Strip, and swimming at our place "Tahiti Village".
We had to leave at 5:45 in the morning, Aliza fell back asleep waiting for us to go.  She is so dang cute. :)
