Maren's Real Birthday Day

I just had to put this post on, mainly for our family history, but also because it is fun. Maren's Friend birthday party was last Saturday, but her real birthday was the Wednesday before, the 25th. Last year we went to Build a Bear to get her first one. This year she wanted to go again.....So, after school we took off to the mall. She was so excited and picked out a bunny. Jackson and Aliza decided that they better get one themselves. ( Good thing they had some money on them to pay for most of it:). )

It was 6:52 a.m. when we got a call from Amy saying that the News channel wished Maren a Happy Birthday turning 6, also her name was picked to win a Cold Stone cake! WOW! That was pretty exciting. I guess Amy put Maren's name in when she put Kyla's name in earlier that month. After we went to Build A Bear, we picked up the cake and had Amy and the kids come over for some singing and yummy eats! Thanks Aunt Amy, you are always thinking of others.

Blessing #12 My Baby.........Maren

MAREN is such a BLESSING in my life. She turned 6 years old this week. 6!!! She is growing up so fast....She's my BABY!!!! Although, she says she's not a baby any more. I don't know what I would do without her. She is very polite, and a big helper for me and any child younger than her, and always has a smile on her face. Anny interviewed Blake for his 4th Birthday, I liked the idea, so I'm using her questions to interview MAREN.

Maren's Friend Party

If anyone really knows me, I'm not a big party giver. I love parties....but the thought of putting it all together doesn't excite me much. Therefore, my kids haven't had a whole lot of friend parties. However, Maren begged, begged and begged to have a party. My sister Jenna was in town for a day and I was telling her my dilemma, she said..."You don't have to do anything big....just let some kids come over and play." So.....I said she could invite 5 friends. I sent some invitations to school with her on Tuesday, and called some other parents for the party.
Aliza and Jackson were HUGE helpers. They took care of the games and getting them all set up. Aliza drew a Princess head.....and they played "Pin the face on the Princess". How did they do?
There's a crown, two eyes, a nose, mouth and two ears.

Jackson was our muscle man and held up the stick and pinata that he put together.

I attempted to make a ladybug cake, that is what she asked for....since most of the decorations we had were pink.....We made a pink one. They really liked it. Not too bad I guess.

Maren turned 5!

Maren's birthday was last week, the 25th, and she is now 5 years old. She has been waiting to turn 5 since the beginning of December. (Her two cousins, Brynn and Cade turned 5 around that time). She has been putting a lot of things off until she was 5. i.e. wiping herself without help, making her own bed, etc. Now that she is 5, she does these things without any problems, she also learned how to ride her bike without training wheels on her birthday! She wanted to open her presents when she woke up, but did wait until her little family party after dinner. She took cupcakes to preschool, and we had cupcakes for her birthday cake. Our little family went to eat at the club house, Sam and the kids hit some balls, while I waited for the food, it was nice and quiet. After dinner, Amy and kids, and Kenny, Jodi, and Sedley came over. Maren didn't want to do the candle and birthday song, she wanted to go straight to the presents. We did, however, convince her to do the cupcakes and song first.

Maren opened her presents and loved every one of them.

Maren has been carrying her Webkins (she got two) around with her, along with her build-a-bear dog, which she has waited 6 months to get. She has already used up most of the Crayola magic pad and finger paints, taken her Barbies for a swim and worn her dress. We love our Maren. We are so glad she is a part of our family.
