First Day of Snow!

Yesterday was the first day of snow. Not too bad I guess. At least it wasn't the beginning of October this year. It started snowing late morning and by afternoon it was perfect for making snowmen.

MAREN'S SNOWMAN
Notice in the picture above, Maren is wearing her scarf. She then put it on her snowman. So cute.
ALIZA'S SNOWMAN
The snow didn't last too long and within two days, the snowmen were completely gone. Amazing.

It was also Stake Conference weekend. We had Elder Zwick from the Quorum of the Seventy here. Both meetings were so inspiring. He challenged us to read out loud chapters 3 and 6 in the Preach My Gospel manual and also the first three chapters in Handbook 2. I hope we will make the effort to do this, especially with our children. Maybe writing this down will help us do it. We didn't know much about Elder Zwick, so while we were listening to him and his stories, we used our phones to Google him and learn about his life. Pretty interesting.

First Snow of Season

Come on........it's only October 10th!!!!I'm not sure if I'm ready for the snow to come yet. I hope this is only a short cold spell, and we will have some more autumn weather.
The kids, however, were excited to put their hats, gloves, snow pants, coats and boots on. Sammy on the other hand, didn't want to take a coat to school, he would have to carry it around.
I usually like the snow, because everything is so brown during the winter, but there is still green grass, and beautiful leaves on the trees, and it is COLD.
