Last Day of School!

It has finally arrived!  The girls had it planned for a week now.  They found some OLD sparkling cider in my pantry and decided to open it up to celebrate the end of school.  Aliza put it in the van with some cups and opened it when I came to pick them up, I don't think it tasted very good because they kept spraying it out after they would take a drink.  What a fun day.

Graff Track Meet

The last day of school is upon us and the last of the Graff Track Meet is here.  Maren will be moving to the Middle School next year.  It will be so strange to not have a child in elementary school.  :(  I was able to volunteer and helped out with the softball throw and giving out ribbons to all the 3rd place winners.  I think Maren wanted me to give her the ribbons because she came in 3rd place almost every time.  She isn't too happy about that, but I think she did GREAT!

Maren--Graff Track Meet

I was excited to help out at the Graff Track meet on the last day of school.  I helped hand out ribbons and really had a fun time.  I loved when Maren ran in a couple of races.  She did pretty good.

Haley, Maren, & Bailey ran the relay.  Maren ran so well and even past a person so they came in 3rd.   So proud of her. (Maren doesn't know who that first girl is in the picture below.  She said she didn't run with them.  Oops)

End of the School Year Activities

The end of April, Maren had a school concert. I liked how just her class was performing, so only the parents of that class was there, so it wasn't super crowded. Each class has 15 min. to perform, then the next class and set of parents come in. It was great. Maren did a fabulous job. She played many instruments (she was the only one who could keep a beat) and she and a friend sang together. I love how I could always hear her voice from the group. Plus, I think she was the prettiest. I'm just saying.......

The Middle School has a talent show at the end of each school year. Aliza was part of the Snowman skit along with Kyla, Paige, and friends. They practiced every week for more than a month for this, and they did a great job. They were the last performance, and they ended it with a BANG (it got slow in some parts of the talents). Aliza was the only 5th grader involved in this group, and she did a fabulous job. Amy was up front getting pictures, while I was in the back video recording. She didn't get a good one of Paige, but Kyla is in here.

The talent show was Tuesday, and Wednesday (2nd to the last day) was Maren's 2nd grade field day. I was in charge of the Limbo station, so I only got a picture of her doing the Limbo. It was a nice day. She really liked her teacher Mrs. Dunamen, and will miss her since she will be changing schools to go to 3rd grade.

One more year down. I now have a Senior, 7th grader, 6th grader and 3rd grader.

Schools Out! and the last few days

Last day of school!!! The kids had a half day of school on Friday. We went to the local ice-cream shack to get some yummy ice-cream to celebrate. It was a little rainy, so the kids decided to sit under the table to eat their ice-cream.
Thursday night was Sammy's 8th grade graduation. I'm not used to celebrating graduating from 8th grade, but we went to the ceremony, then headed to Fudruckers for some dinner. My Sammy is a high school 9th grader now. YIKES!!!

Thursday Aliza's school had an awards ceremony at school. Her name was drawn from many who had read books for the "books for bikes" program. She was very excited because she has been riding Jackson's old beat up bike. I just couldn't buy her a new one when we had so many that she could ride. Now I'm glad I didn't buy her one. Isn't it so girly?
