Happy Mothers Day

I Love being a mother!

 Even when things aren't perfect.......

Today was a full day.  I guess I got up too early for the kids to give me breakfast in bed, I had my shower then got back in bed so they could give me my yummy tray of eggs, toast, bacon, and milk.  Loved it!  Had a great day at church, listening to Aliza and Sammy each give a talk on mothers.   At 3:00, went to a wonderful piano recital for Sammy, Aliza, and Maren.  Had a quick enchilada dinner, then Sam and I went to Sammy's Seminary Graduation at the Stake Center.  What a proud day to be a mom.  I love each and every one of my children so much, and am proud to be their mom.
Yes, I did get a wonderful hour nap in there as well and my darling husband gave me six little cactus plants to represent each member family.   I better get them planted before its too late...

Blessing #19 Motherhood

Janice and her 9 children..Kathryn, Angela, Rebecca, Jennifer, (Brock, beautiful bride), Aaron, Mom, Joy, Curt, Rhonda and Gary (taken on June 2005 in San Diego. Youngest Bro finally married!!)

Janice and LaRae

What a great honor it is to share motherhood with these exceptional women.

Rebecca and her 4 children. Jackson, me, Maren, Sammy and Aliza (taken May 10, 2009 at home)

What a wonderful day I had. My children were very excited to give me there gifts. Aliza gave me hers on Sat. A beautiful fun lava lamp that she made at school. Maren gave me a beautiful homemade heart necklace with a picture she painted and her school picture and name on it. Sammy was up at the crack of dawn with the other kids making pancake and eggs. They were so excited to bring it to me in bed. We had a fun time talking while I was eating. Sam had some roses delivered on Sat. and made a wonderful dinner (pork chops, corn on cob, mashed potatoes and gravy. Very Good!) The kids (mainly Jackson) cleaned the kitchen after we got back from Clint and Amy's. Patrick made a cake and invited us over for dessert. Yummy!
I must say, there were times through out the day where I contemplated being a mother, and was very emotional for different reasons. One....What a BLESSING it is to be a MOTHER to four wonderful children. Two....Am I being the kind of mother Heavenly Father wants me to be. At times I know I'm not the best at it and need to be more patient and not so demanding. I love my children so much and am grateful for their quick forgiveness of my shortcomings.
I LOVE BEING A MOTHER!!!

To our Mothers

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY...
JANICE AND LARAE
Mother- daughter Merry Miss activity May 1979
Sam and I want to thank our mothers for all they have done to nourish, love, and teach us all that we know.

Sorry Aaron, this was the only family picture I had.

They were mothers to many children, Janice 10 and LaRae 9.

LaRae is no longer with us, she passed away 5 1/2 years ago due to cancer. We have great memories of her as a mother and mother-in-law and miss her terribly. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and loved and accepted everyone. I am so thankful for her insight in knowing that Sam should take me out. She bugged him and bugged him to take me out. She told him, "Take Becca out just once, that's all I'm asking." I'm thankful that Sam listened to his mother and took me out. That's all it took.

With youngest son David, 2 months before she passed away.

Janice has been a wonderful mother and mother-in-law to us. She has been a great example of living the gospel to the fullest. She is always thinking of others, even when she is sick and weak. She is always on the go, every time I talk to her she has some new adventure in the works...Climbing Mt. Timp. (twice); going on two different missions (Jamaica, Nauvoo); taking in her home, children and other people at different times in their lives; going on many trips...mostly visiting family, but some fun ones as well; and lately, dealing with a recent illness.

Mother - daughter fun trip to England. Sept, 2007

We love our mothers!!! Thank you for all you've done for us.
