Halloween!!!! Plus 35 Year Flashback!

We made it through another Halloween!!!!!
This has been fun, yet not, because as a mom, I get to figure out what costumes the kids wear, and make or purchase and put it all together. When the kids were young, I could put whatever I wanted on them, and they would be fine. Now that they are a little older, they have in mind (pretty much set) what they want to be. Occasionally I can persuade them to change their mind. Maren wanted to be a flower girl and wear her dress she wore at her cousin Scotty's wedding almost two years ago. However, after finding some cute Ladybug wings and antennas, she was easily persuaded.
Maren and Randon(cousin): his class is parading through hers. I'm glad she recognized him, because I sure didn't. I should have recognized his cute smile! (Amy pointed out he has a cute happy smile, and he does).
I wasn't very good with taking pictures. I was so busy, I didn't get a before picture when they were all excited. This picture was after everyone had left the "Trunk 'n' Treat" They were tired and ready to go. But, I DID get a picture.
Sammy--The Terminator(he isn't holding his BB gun); Jackson--Turkey Hunter; Aliza--A Beautiful Bride; Maren--Happy Ladybug
Sam and I were "Prisoners of Love" These costumes (originally pajamas) were
worn by my mom and dad 50 years ago, when they dressed up for a new comers get together in Boise. They even made it in the newspaper because of these costumes.

Sam is supposed to be wearing a ball and chain. He didn't think he needed it, I was there.....HA, HA!! NOT!
We had a Trunk 'n' Treat at the church, which was a blast. I was tyring to get lots of pictures here, because it was a Primary activity/Ward activity. I wanted to get some to hang up in the primary room. Plus, I was passing out candy at my trunk. I snapped some photos as kids walked by. "I think I got some of my kids"???

Aliza and Kyla (cousin) and Sedley (cousin). Just getting started. Kenny (Sam's bro) is in the back left (not dressed up:)

This picture is a bit blurry, but I had to put it on. Maren is having sooooo much fun going around to each trunk........4 times.

Jackson is ready to do some REAL trick or treating now.
Afterwards, Amy and I took Kyla, Aliza, Karissa, Brooke (friend), Jackson, Maren and Randon to a newer neighborhood (near the golf course). We followed them in the van, while they ran from house to house. We were out for about an hour. We stayed out about 10 minutes too long, they started crashing, but once we got home.......They got to see and enjoy their hard work!!!!! Maren gave half away because she didn't like most the candy.
BLAST FROM THE PAST
OCTOBER 30, 1973
BOISE, ID
I'm glad we didn't fall off those posts:)
Growing up, we had a huge garden. We grew many things, one being pumpkins. This year (1973), We, Anny (right), Kass (center) and I (left) were dressed in our Halloween costumes and put inside these huge Jack-o-lanterns. My dad called up the newspaper and told them to come out, there's a great picture opportunity. So.... we were in the paper the next day.
