Trip to Phoenix--Bobby's Wedding

What a wonderful time we had in Arizona. When I got in, I met Anny, Kass, and Cara in Gilbert for a little lunch and chat at Cara's house. It was great to be there to enjoy their company and get caught up.
We then went to dinner with the whole wedding party, in Glendale. We were a little late due to the I10 being closed, there was some Chinese food left, thank goodness. I didn't get to see Bobby much, he was off at a bachelor party Fri. night, then saw him for a minute in the morning before he was off to the temple. Briefly at the Reception (picture below) and that was it. He doesn't look very excited does he? Saturday was the wedding at the Mesa, AZ temple. What proud parents they are. My sister Joy and hubby Jerry, and Bobby and Rachel getting ready for pictures. Bobby is the 5th to get married in his family. The first 4 were his sisters, Laura, Janell, Kimberly and Jessica. Jerry was very excited not to have to plan and pay for the reception this time, especially since Jessica was just married this past Feb.

The reception was in a beautiful backyard, it was a very nice evening. It was fun being there with 4 of my sisters (Joy not in picture) and niece Arielle (Rhonda's Daughter), and of coarse mom. My niece, Janell's 5 year old son Treston took this photo, not bad.

Tyler (Joy's 6th out of 7) prepared the Sunday meal. Pot Roast. YUM. He did a wonderful job. I didn't know he was the #1 iron chef last year.
There was a scorpion in the hallway of the house. Jordan caught it, then it was flushed down the toilet. I was a little nervous after that because I was sleeping on an air mattress close to the floor. OOH.
It was actually sad to leave this time, Joy and Jerry are moving to Texas, and I'm not sure how often I'll get down there again. After graduating from High School, I moved there and lived with them and their cute family (Bobby turned 1 while I was there), while going to a Medical Assisting school and working for about a year. I also lived there (in Gilbert) for a few months with Sam after he graduated from Dental School. It was wonderful to spend some time with them then as well. I think some of the married kids will stay there, so I hope to get down to see them.

It was great to see all my wonderful family and friends down there in HOT Arizona. Thank you all.

I had so much fun with you at lunch!!! Glad we ate more than we wanted to since you didn't get much dinner. And I'm so happy that scorpian didn't crawl into your bed. I have had that happen to me sever times! Yuck!! Wish you could have stayed longer and you had better come back for a visit! Or maybe I'll come there!

Great recap of the fun weekend! It did feel weird leaving wondering if we'd ever go back & definitely not back to Joy & Jerry's house. You do have quite the Arizona history! Thanks for the fun, sleeping on the floor by the critters & for putting up with our backseat driving!

The pictures are so great, Rebecca. Thanks for making the effort to record this wonderful time for us all. If everyone of the bloggers that were there made some comments on that weekend, we would have a nice journal from different aspects. It also was a very emotional time for me with all the changes in the Parks family.
